Who Moved?

“Though the Lord is on high, He looks upon the lowly, but the proud He knows from afar” (Psalm 138:6).

Again I say it: “If God seems far away, who moved?” The lowly are not necessarily those who are pushing grocery carts all over town. God has a special interest in all of those who humble themselves and understand that worth is not measured by wealth or status or fame or beauty. Those in life who pride themselves in whatever it is that give them a feeling of superiority are the very ones God looks upon with disdain. Make no mistake, church: meekness and humility do not carry the notion of weakness or lack of ambition or enthusiasm. It requires a childlike faith to humble ourselves before the awesome God who made us, and to obey and serve Him. Those are the ones who please our Majestic Father. Be sure you are one of His.
