How Goes Your Battle?

[224 words]

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you” Matthew 6:6.

A big theme to come out of the latest faith-based film, War Room, is that we, as individual Christians, must have a prayer strategy. Just as those in charge of a military engagement gather and develop a plan to win a battle in the world, we must know how we will win the spiritual battles we face. 2 Corinthians 10 tells us that we don’t wage war as the world does, that our weapons “have divine power to demolish strongholds, [that] we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” Neither are our enemies “flesh and blood” like the world would believe they are. Rather, they are the rulers, authorities, and powers of this dark world and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. So, it should come as no surprise that our fighting is not done out in the open for all to see but in our war room, wherever that may be with purposeful prayers, believing our unseen Father rewards.
