Did You Know This About Nehemiah?

[148 words] Nehemiah helped lead an effort to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. At the beginning of the book, he is living in Persia in the palace of King Artaxerses, working as his cupbearer. When he heard a report about the wall of Jerusalem being broken down, he was determined to help.  Like Moses about 1,000 years earlier, Nehemiah left the comforts of a royal home to “get his hands dirty” serving God and His people.  A key verse in this book is Neh. 2:18: “And I told them of the hand of my God which had been good upon me, and also of the king’s words that he had spoken to me.
