Those that become disciples of Jesus must learn His doctrine and followed Him as teacher. Jesus Christ must be viewed as the only begotten Son of God and Master Teacher. His followers must be learners or disciples. The disciples of Jesus come to Him for forgiveness of sins. Forgiveness is in Jesus and only on His terms. The message of salvation is the message of the death, burial and resurrection of the Son of God. The desire of Jesus is to make disciples. (Matthew 28:18-20) Here is how we obey the gospel. “Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:3-4). The baptism taught by Jesus is for remission of sins. Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. (Mark 16:15-16) God’s desire is that everyone conform to the image of His Son.
