Did You Know This About Ezekiel?

[160 words]

While Jeremiah was known as the “Weeping Prophet,” Ezekiel on the other hand was told by God not to cry.

Specifically, God told Ezekiel that he was about to lose his wife, and he should not mourn or weep. His behavior was to be an example to Israel of how they should behave when they face the tragedies that were coming their way due to the exile.

But even with all the tragedy the book contains, Ezekiel’s vision of the valley of dry bones in chapter 37 shows that God has the power to breath life in to His people once again.

Jesus speaks of the resurrection of the dead in John 5:28-29.

“Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.”
