Heaven is Real

[368 words]

Heaven is an important topic and, I must confess, I love speaking and writing about the Spiritual House. Because, like you, I’ve lost loved ones … and I look forward to being with my Christian family members and friends in that glorious home.

I think that it’s sad that many do not have the hope of heaven. And it is very sad that there are many who think that they can go to heaven without committing their lives to Jesus Christ. For God told us: “there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12, CSB).

The 17th century scientist Blaise Pascal had an interesting observation. Besides inventing the Probability Theory and describing air pressure, many credit Pascal with creating the first computer in the 17th century.

Pascal was converted from atheism to Christianity. He is just one of many, many famous and important scientists who have confessed Jesus as Lord.

After he became a believer, he was confronted by one of his atheist friends. The fellow ridiculed Pascal for his belief in heaven. Pascal explained: “If you do not believe in heaven and I do not believe – in the end we both lose whether heaven is real or not.” But if it is real … And, If you don’t believe in heaven and I do – in the end you lose and I win.” Then, Pascal said, “My fondest desire is for both of us to win.”

I am on Pascal’s side. Jesus told us that he was going to prepare a house for us in Heaven. I believe that Jesus told the truth. I believe that our Lord was NOT a liar. Here is what Jesus Christ said:

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:1-2, NKJV).
