“I lift up my eyes to tne hills–where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1-2).
If this week you are driving along and see some hills, or you find yourself longing for some help, then remember the words of Psalm 121. Looking at the hills we may long for their help to guide our way and mark our journey, or we may marvel at their immutable nature against the natural elements around them. The hills may help bring us perspective, or perhaps comfort us, so we breathe easier.
Nonetheless, they are not eternal! Consider then, how much greater the help we have, as our lives are guided by the word of God (1 Pet 1:24-25) and the cross of Jesus Christ (Php 2:1-11). Ponder also, the immensity of comfort we have from the God of all comfort (2 Cor. 1:3), who promised to never leave or forsake us (Heb.13:5).
