The Danger of Desensitization

[117 words]

It’s a real danger for Christians to become so desensitized by the entertainment we consume or the causes we support that we revert back to talking as if we never were born again. Maybe some rationalize their crude language, saying, “I only say these words when I’m really upset;” “But the cause is too great to ignore it just because there’s a little language.” And just like that, they’ve subscribed to situational ethics. Yet, the Bible still says, “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths” (Eph. 4:29). It’s up to us, individually, to decide if we really believe this teaching from the Holy Spirit. I believe Him, and so I want to keep trying.
