I woke one night and looked above
Into a twinkling starry sky
And Marveled that God’s endless love
Should come to one as small as I.
When there are galaxies up there
With measurements beyond the mind
And yet that love beyond compare
Was sent instead to humankind.
The Heavens march without an end
And we’re so fragile, and so small
Why did that boundless love descend
On those most minuscule of all?
Our God so loved the souls He made
Despite the stain of Eden’s curse
His love in Jesus was conveyed
To man, above this universe.
