A Time That Will Not Change

[180 words]

I love Spring! But one thing I’ve never liked is Daylight Savings Time. It has been shown that the changing our bodies’ rhythms back and forth isn’t healthy. But our government still insists on doing it. For one thing, it is good for business, they say. Up north, the sun sets earlier and by the time folks get home from work, it’s too late to play 9 holes of golf or go to the ballgame, etc.  So the golf course and the ballpark lose money if they don’t move the clock forward one hour.

Man has always tried to manipulate time. Besides those who force DST on us, we have fiction authors writing about time travel and non-fiction writers publish books on time management. But there is coming a time we cannot change or manipulate. It is a time when we face the Lord on Judgment Day (Hebrews 9:27). It is best to be prepared for that time by the salvation through grace offered to us by Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9) and living by faithful obedience (John 14:15).
