The next time you decide to put off doing something you know you ought to do, remember the little boy who squeezed the toothpaste on the cat’s back, shook apples prematurely off the tree and cut gaps in his father’s hair while the father slept. When the father awoke and surveyed the damage, he said to the boy, “Unless you put everything back the way it was, I’m going to spank you.”
Yesterday is like that. We cannot live it again. Think of that when you tell yourself, “Tomorrow I will do this or that.” Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. “For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away” (James 4:14).
