David found the cure for his loneliness in Psalms 25 beginning with verse 15. Here is David’s prayer:
“My eyes are ever on the LORD … Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. The troubles of my heart have multiplied; free me from my anguish. Look upon my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins.”
David knew enough to ask the Lord to Guard his life and rescue him; and he ends with these beautiful words of faith: “for I take refuge in you” (Psalms 25:15-20).
Whenever we take refuge in God, He becomes our comfort and our friend. In his friendship, we overcome our loneliness and we know true friendship. Yes, God offers comfort for the lonely.
