However, there are a few good reasons to know that God is deeply involved in the events of this book. First, Mordecai told Esther that if she chose not to help save the Israelites, “relief and deliverance” would come to the Jewish people from another place (Esther 4:14). Mordecai knew God was working to return His people to Jerusalem, just as He had promised. Second, Mordecai continues by appealing to God’s providential work when he said, “Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom or such a time as this?” Finally, Esther told the people to fast for her for three days and nights.
