[130 words] The book of Job gives an account of events that happened to a man named Job, and deals with the questions such as why the righteous suffer, and the sovereignty of God over His creation. Due to some of the things mentioned in the book, the action likely takes place in the patriarchal age, probably around the time of Abraham! That means Job probably lived around the time of Genesis 11 and 12. Evidence for this includes the fact that Job was acting as priest for his family, and offered sacrifices on their behalf. Other customs practiced in Job were common to the pre-Law of Moses era. There is no reference to Israel, the tabernacle, or the Law of Moses, likely making this perhaps the oldest book of the Bible!
