When the Israelites defeated the Amorites as they drew closer to the Promised Land, Balak, the King of Maob called on Balaam to come and curse the people of Israel. God said to Balaam: “Do not go with them, you shall not curse the people for they are blessed” (Numbers 22:12). The story goes on to show that even though the idea of placing a curse-on Israel was pursued, God deflected and defeated all that was attempted.
We Christians are the blessed people of God. He watches over us and is well aware of the world trying to hurt us. “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me? Acts 9:4.
We come under the Lord’s divine protection. It does not mean we will never be persecuted, but woe to those who do it.
Let us take comfort in the fact that God sees all and knows all, and is watching out for us.
