Chosen by God

In school many kids dread the scenario in gym class, where two captains pick teams. Every kid is lined up and one-by-one the teams are picked. No one in that line wanted to be the last kid to be picked. Being picked last means the two captains valued you the least out of everyone else. And not being valued hurts. Not being chosen hurts. First Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” If life were gym class, mankind was a long line, and God was the captain, then He would pick you to be on His team.
