Throughout the Gospels it is amazing to read about the prayer life of Jesus. It seems as though He was continually longing to be with the Father in prayer. What a great example for us. The Hebrew writer has something interesting to tell us about Jesus’ prayers. Hebrews 5:7 tells us that even though Christ prayed to God with cries and tears, His prayers were heard because of His reverence. Isn’t that interesting? Jesus, the Son of God, had His prayers heard due to His reverence for His Father. Too often we can forget what an honor and a privilege it is to go before the throne of God in prayer. We may take it lightly. Sometimes, we may even believe it is our right to be able to communicate with the God of the universe. It is not. It is a tremendous blessing. How will you show God your reverence toward Him this week?
