Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the mid-dle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’” “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil” (Genesis 3:1-5).
Satan is that ancient serpent who deceives the whole world (Revelation 12:9). His greatest weapon is to make you distrust God’s word just as he got Eve (and Adam) to distrust the Lord’s word in the beginning of history (2 Corinthians 11:3).
Satan has lied about God’s word throughout history. The Devil doesn’t want you to read the Bible because it leads us to salvation and Heaven. One of Satan’s latest tools is GQ magazine.
In an article titled “21 Books You Don’t Have to Read and 21 You Should Read Instead” the editors of that rag say, The Holy Bible is one of those books you should “not read.”
Make no mistake about it. This article is the voice of Satan pretending to be editors. There are a hundred reasons why we should read and study the Bible. One of them is because it leads us to salvation (James 1:21).
