“Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works in man’s behalf!” (Psalm 66:5).
We’ve just been talking about the righteousness that Jesus gained for us while we were enemies of God and dead in our sins. Because He loved us so much, He sent His only and beloved Son to die on our behalf. Those who had earned death are given hope that we can rejoice in! It is only natural, then, that a category of psalms is that of prayers of the community for God’s saving help. God has done incredible things. If you take a trip, you will, no wonder, be awed by the beauty which still emanates from this fallen world. Or how about the incredible colors of an early morning sunrise that few see because they are still in bed. As wonderful as those things are to point out to people, the works God has done in man’s behalf are the best reasons to praise Him! This is, really, the point of the gospel. We who have found a reprieve in the sentence of death because of our sins should be filled with awe and praise for the God who found a way for us. It should be natural that we would cry out, “Come and see what God has done!” in our lives.
Do you tell the “good news” of what God has done for you?
