Getting People to Listen

  [168 words] “Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for my soul” (Psa. 66:16). If you think about it, there is good advice in that verse on telling others about the good news of Jesus Christ. To be honest, very few people we encounter respond positively to lectures in theology or finger-in-the-face attacks on their morality. Now, don’t get me wrong, it is crucial that we speak the truth and speak it in love (Eph. 4:15). But maybe there is a better way to get folks interested in the truth of the gospel. People tend to respond more favorably when we reveal what God has done for us through Jesus Christ. When we make our words personal and positive, people will listen.
