Truth is Incontrovertible

Sir Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom said, “The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.” That first sentence, “The truth is incontrovertible,” almost jumped off the page when l read it! What did Churchill mean when he said that truth is “incontrovertible?” Hidden away in the word “incontrovertible” (controver) is the word “controversy.” When Mr. Churchill said that truth is “incontrovertible,” he was saying that trust is “incapable of controversy.” Truth is incapable of being contradicted. Truth cannot be denied! Truth cannot be disputed. Truth is unchangeable. It is true! I looked up some synonyms for incontrovertible.
