“You will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; in Your right hand there are pleasures forever” (Psalm 16:9,10).
The one who trusts in God has a supreme spiritual happiness and an inexpressible joy.
They come from the presence of the Lord. Just being with the Lord brings untold pleasures. Joy is found in the fellowship with the right people, but the greatest happiness comes from a continued companionship with God.
They come from the provisions of the Lord. As we behold what God has done for us and is continually doing in our lives, we rejoice with thanksgiving. We do not need to ask for more blessings; we only need to ask for the wisdom to use what we have been given.
They come from the promises of the Lord. As we look at what we are experiencing, we are made to rejoice even more in what has been promised for the future. We know that God will be faithful to us. The bounties we enjoy now are a prophecy of what is to come. His promises are never empty; together they make up our living hope.
