God, Time, and Promises

[136 words]

God dwells in eternity and time means nothing to Him (2 Peter 3:8). However, His word and His promises mean everything to Him. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). The Lord promised that there is coming at time when this earth and everything in it will be destroyed (2 Peter 3:10). The end of the earth and the dissolving of all material things prompted the statement of 2 Peter 3:11, in which the Bible teaches, “Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness?” Are you the person you should be?
