Many people are familiar with the shortest verse in the Bible, “Jesus wept” (John 11:35). But it’s only the shortest verse in English! In the original Greek, the shortest verse is actually 1 Thessalonians 5:16, “Rejoice always.” John 11:35 contains three Greek words, whereas 1 Thess. 5:16 has only two.
