Though David was not allowed to build the temple of God due to the blood on his hands, David’s son Solomon completed the temple according to God’s plan. Second Chronicles 7 records the dedication of the house of God. One amazing fact about the dedication is that on that day, Solomon offered a sacrifice of 22,000 bulls and 100,000 sheep. At today’s equivalent prices, this represents over $125 million worth of cattle and about $48 million in sheep! That is a huge sacrifice! Are we sacrificial with the things God has blessed us with?
