“Happy are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord” (Psalms 119:1). “How can a young (person) keep his way pure? by guarding it with God’s word” (Psalms 119:9). “Receive with meekness the implanted word of God and it will save your soul” (James 1:21). “Faith comes by hearing; and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17).
What each of these passages from God’s word is promising are GREAT blessings by listening with obedient hearts to God’s word! These blessings include: happiness in the face of trials and suffering, keeping ourselves morally good, having our consciences cleaned, and growing in our faith in God when doubts attack us.
It’s hard for young and old alike to accept this simple truth when we allow God’s simple truth to be influenced and watered-down by the message of the world. But if we will accept the Bible as the truth sent to us by God, then our God will crown us with salvation and blessings for a true and better life.
