The Father’s Door

[104 words]

The wanderer walked a weary mile,
Ashamed to seek the Father’s smile.
His pockets held no lasting gain,
Only regret and hidden pain.

Yet while he stood with downcast eyes,
Love reached beyond the distant skies.
The Father ran with arms spread wide,
And welcomed home the one who’d strayed.

No ledger spoke, no debt remained;
His mercy far outweighed the shame.

A robe of grace, a feast of joy,
Restored the heart sin sought to destroy.

So none are lost beyond His care,
For mercy meets the soul in prayer.
The Father’s door is open still,
To every heart that seeks His will.
