We see many individuals who are leaving the truth and turning to man-made innovations and man-made religions.
We are told the the old needs to change. It is dull, dry, boring, uninspiring, and irrelevant. Those who depart tell us that the old, foundational teachings of the past no longer matter. The steps of salvation, the church, true worship, church organization, the distinction between the covenants, apologetics, the need for authority, etc. are all said to be “dead” issues. They are not the topics individuals are interested in. Therefore, since the church will not change, individuals turn to other things to have their needs met, their wants satisfied, and their itches scratched.
Question: Who determines what is vital and truly needed? Is it man? Or, is it God? To ask the question should be to answer it. Surely, God determines the things that man needs from a spiritual perspective. Dear readers, those things are found in the Scriptures. Psalm 19:7-11 and 2 Timothy 3:16-17 still proclaim the need to hold fast to the Word of God. It is perfect. It alone can furnish us completely to every good work.
We must change our thinking. God knows what is best, not us. God can fill and satisfy, not the social or prosperity gospel.
Note: It is not about numbers. It is about truth. Truth is needed and relevant at all times, even when men tire of it.
My way? Or God’s way? This has been the challenge since the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve did it their way. We see the results of that decision every day.
Dear readers, we can take the Bible and read it and weep. Or, we can take it and read it and rejoice. It’s our choice.
