Salvation is in Christ, and only in Christ. God sent His Son into the world to seek and save the lost, which is all of us. The good news (gospel) is that Jesus gave His life on the cross to redeem us from our sins. He died, was buried, but arose again, all to purchase us with His precious blood (1 Cor. 15:3,4; Acts 20:28). Jesus’ resurrection is our assurance that one day we too will arise from the grave to be judged according to the deeds we have done in this life (Romans 2:6).
God’s inspired word says that to be in Christ we must believe in Him (Romans 10:9-14), we must repent of our sins (Luke 13:3), we must confess Him before men (Matt. 10:32) and we must be baptized for remission of our sins (Acts 2:38; 1 Cor. 12:13). Then we must live a life in obedience to the words of Jesus (Romans 6:17).
God’s plan of salvation is so simple that anyone can obey, whether a slave or free, poor or rich, black, yellow or white, or whatever sins have been committed in the past. It can be obeyed whether one lives in Africa, Russia, America, or any other country in the world. Having obeyed we have a new life in Jesus. Regardless of what others say in our society today. there is no other name in which we can be saved (Acts 4:14).
Hear the gospel, believe it, and obey it. Through God’s grace and mercy, heaven will be His gift in the life to come.
