Shelter in Place

[398 words] “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty” (Psalm 91:1). Due to the COVID-19 crisis, many Americans have been told to stay home.  That means do not go to work, do not go to school, do not leave the house at all unless you have to. The number is only expected to increase. This is commonly referred to as the “Shelter in Place” directive. In our home state of Kentucky, our government officials are calling the plan “Healthy at Home.” A few random thoughts on the spiritual nature of the shelter in place concept: As you shelter in place, take the time to read passages like Psalm 91. The righteous know that God both protects and punishes. Our message to God should be that He is, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Thus,…
