As followers of Christ, we are made perfect by the blood of Christ (Matthew 5:48 and 1 Peter 1:18-19). As Christians we must be willing to work good works (Ephesians 2:10). It may be the case that you are looking for things to do for the cause of Christ. If this is the case, here are some ways you can work with the Lord:
Pray daily for the church. Remember to especially pray for our elders and their families (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Think of the encouragement it would provide if our elders knew that everyone is praying for them. Remember they are under the command from God to watch over our souls (Acts 20:28).
Look for opportunities to share the Gospel (Matthew 28:19–20). It can be as easy as talking to someone or just giving them a flyer to a gospel meeting, upcoming series, Friends and Family Day, or some other event where the Gospel is proclaimed.
Try to reclaim a wayward Christian (James 5:19–20). Let’s face it: none of us are perfect and from time to time we all need someone to help us along the way.
Teach a Bible class. We always need good Bible teachers. Notice Psalm 145:4: “One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts.”
Invite a friend or neighbor to our worship services. Acts 20:20 teaches us that we can go house to house and reach those who need Jesus. We are blessed to have this opportunity.
Look for visitors at our worship services and give them a warm greeting. If they have children, help them find the appropriate class. Do everything possible to make them feel welcome (Proverbs 25:11).
