A Quiet Place to Pray

[99 words]

When burdens press upon my soul,
And storms arise beyond control,
I find a quiet place to kneel,
Where my anxious heart seeks to heal.

No grand display, no lofty speech,
God is never out of reach.
He hears my whispered, trembling plea
As surely as the strongest decree.

In prayer I leave my fears behind,
In meditation peace I find.
His answers come in perfect ways,
Though not always in hurried days.

What gift is greater here below
Than speaking to the Lord we know?
The Father listens when I pray,
And gently leads me day by day.
