It is hard to believe, but football season is here, and few moments in a game are more exciting than the final two minutes of a close game. The two-minute warning signals that time is short. The pace quickens, offensive and defensive plays shift, and teams often win or lose in these final two minutes.
What if we lived our lives as if we only had two minutes left to live? Would we need to forgive someone? Would we need to make things right with God? What would we need to do to hurry up and win the game of life if we were given a two-minute warning?
The reality is that we are not given a two-minute warning. Neither do we know when Jesus will return. 1 Thess. 5:2 reads, “For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.” Given this, let’s make the most of every minute God gives us!
